My brother has a habit of asking my cousin ( little brother โค๏ธ) and me the most interesting, sometimes nonsensical, and often intriguing questions in our little group chat. But before he ask, he will say, I have a question ๐ค lol. We usually have a comment like ” good grief” ๐๐ฑ
Today, I want to do the same with whomever is reading this passage. I HAVE A QUESTION ๐ค.
๐Do you have my eyes?๐
So many have quick responses to other people issues or lifestyles, but it is a fact that everything we do is based off of something that has happened in our lives. Either things were passed down, leaned behaviors from family, or personal life experiences that set the foundation for a belief system. Honestly, all of those things could be good or bad for a person, but it depends on the opinion of observers.

It is so easy to look at anyone and point out how misguided they are and wonder what on ๐ are you thinking๐. However, if we pause to ask that very question, do I have their eyes, then it would slow the impulsive things we are so fast to say about a person. It would also remind us that just as we wonder that about others, people also wonder the same things about us at times!

Take a moment and think about the things you have seen. Think about the experiences you have had over the years. Remember the rewards or consequences and how it shaped your motivations. We don’t pop out of the womb, stretch our arms, and then go out into to world fabulous ๐๐พ๐คญ. We may think we did when we are feeling ourselves๐, when we have accomplished some good stuff๐๐พ, but we didn’t arrive on earth already fabulous! We all came here as a needy, sweet, and messy baby ๐ผ๐ฝ. Any fabulous stuff was developed & achieved along the and was our personal journey through experiences.

I w never be able to see one hundred percent of how you became who you are, nor you for me, as it is impossible! Only you have your eyes and me mine!
Seeing is not just about looking. It’s about perspectives and feelings. It is connecting dots, putting puzzle pieces of your life into the right places๐งฉ. Seeing is about understanding and accepting. It is about looking at yourself and having nowhere to run when you don’t like what you see, your self image. And most of all, seeing is about mental health and emtional development. When we are so fast to judge and ask what in the ๐ is he/she doing, we neglect to acknowledge I don’t have his/her eyes to see their perosnal story!
Now, make no mistake, we have every right to lift eyebrows at people behaviors and choose to walk the other way. “Nope, not today”, is a real statement ๐
! Smart choices for self is paramount!

But, the relevance of my question is, what happens when everyone ignores “the why” and never have an open mind to sympathize or empathize with others. Let’s be clear, that’s not to say solve others problems or try to save the world like superheroes ๐ฆธ๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐ฆธ๐ผโโ๏ธ, but it is to be able to have discerning concentration on being a prayer warrior for someone, offer encouragement to someone, share what your eyes have seen and taught you with someone, or simply offer a pat on the back to say don’t give up, you will be okay, I know because I’ve been there before๐ฎโ๐จ. Sometimes people simply need to know their life is not the only one that’s travel certain paths and that people actually see them, AND CARE. ๐ฅฐ๐
